OUR STORY

Hi, I'm Edward Chavez Jr., founder and owner of Home Run Concrete Coatings. Service has been at the center of my life for as long as I can remember. Before I started this company, I spent nine years as a police officer, and today I still serve our community as a firefighter with the Midland Fire Department.

In 2022, I saw that Midland deserved a concrete coating company that brought a higher level of quality, professionalism, and customer service to the trade — so I built one. Whether we're transforming a residential garage, polishing concrete for a commercial facility, or installing a decorative flake or metallic system, the goal is always the same: floors that look incredible and are built to withstand the test of time.

Polished Concrete Floors

Polished Concrete Floors

Concrete Repair & Restoration

Concrete Repair & Restoration

We fix cracks, pits, and spalls and restore damaged concrete before coating — so the surface underneath is as solid as the finish on top.

Coatings That Actually Last — Because of What We Do Before the Color Goes Down

Done in a Day

Most residential garages are prepped and coated the same day — a typical two-car garage is a 6–8 hour job, and you're back to using it the next morning.

Limited Lifetime Warranty

We stand behind our work with a limited lifetime warranty covering delamination, peeling, and chipping.

Polyaspartic & Polyurea Systems

Not Cheap Epoxy

Standard epoxy yellows in the sun and gets brittle. We install a polyurea base coat with a UV-stable polyaspartic topcoat: flexible enough to move with your slab, resistant to fading, chemicals, and hot tires. It's the system built to hold up in West Texas.

We Test for Moisture

Before We Coat

Using a Tramex moisture meter, we check the slab before installation. Moisture pushing up through untested concrete is what causes coatings

to bubble and delaminate

— We catch it first.

Full Surface Prep, Every Time

We diamond-grind every floor with HEPA dust containment to open the concrete so the coating bonds deep — not just sits on top like an acid wash. Proper prep is the number-one reason a coating lasts or fails.

OUR 6-STEP PROCESS

How We Install a Floor Built to Last

1. DIAMOND GRINDING & DUST CONTAINMENT

We grind the concrete with diamond tooling and HEPA vacuums to profile the surface and keep dust out of your space.

2. REPAIRS

We fill and repair every crack, pit, and spall, then re-grind for a smooth, uniform base.

3. POLYUREA BASE COAT

We mix and apply a polyurea base coat that absorbs into the ground concrete and bonds tightly to the slab.

4. FLAKE BROADCAST

We broadcast your chosen flake color into the base for texture, slip resistance, and a custom look.

5. SCRAPE & RECLAIM

Once cured, we scrape the floor in every direction, vacuum, and reclaim excess flake for a clean, even surface.

6. POLYASPARTIC UV TOPCOAT

We finish with a UV-stable polyaspartic topcoat, squeegeed and back-rolled for a uniform, durable, showroom finish.

A Message From Edward

Hi, I'm Edward Chavez Jr., owner & founder of Home Run Concrete Coatings. Before I started this company, I spent 9 years as a police officer, and today I still serve our community as a firefighter with the Midland Fire Department. Those years taught me accountability, discipline, and how to treat people right — and that's exactly how we run every job.

I started Home Run in 2022 because Midland deserved a concrete coating company that shows up, communicates, and does the job right the first time. Faith and integrity are the foundation of everything we do, and our goal is simple: turn your ugly concrete into a floor you'll be proud of for years to come.

Frequently Asked Questions

What's the difference between epoxy and polyaspartic coatings?

Polyaspartic is more durable and holds up better outdoors. Standard epoxy is less flexible and tends to yellow or fade in direct sunlight, while a polyurea/polyaspartic system stays UV-stable, flexes with the concrete as it moves, and resists chemicals, abrasion, and hot tires. That's why we build our floors with a polyurea base and a polyaspartic topcoat.

How long does a garage floor coating take?

Most garage floors are completed in a single day. A typical two-car garage is a 6–8-hour job, and you can walk on it that evening and drive on it 24- 48 hours later.

Do you test for moisture before coating?

Yes. We use a Tramex moisture meter to test the slab before every installation. Moisture rising through untested concrete is a leading cause of coatings bubbling and peeling, so we check for it first and prep accordingly.

What colors can I choose from?

We carry 14 stock flake colors with no price difference between them. Custom colors are also available for a floor that's uniquely yours; custom orders include the color and shipping cost.

Is your work under warranty?

Yes. Every coating we install is backed by a limited lifetime warranty covering delamination, peeling, and chipping. If a covered issue happens, we come out and repair it.

Do you coat outdoor and commercial spaces too?

Yes. Our coatings work outdoors, around pools, and on patios, and we install commercial and industrial systems for warehouses, oilfield facilities, and work bays throughout the Permian Basin.
